Spanish Pronunciation: Vowels

Updated: Aug 23, 2019

There are only 5 vowel sounds in Spanish that never change.

The a is pronounced like the a in MAN.

The e is pronounced like the e in MEN or EGG.

The i is pronounced like the ea in SEAT and NEVER like the i in SIT.

The o is pronounced like the o in POT.

The u is pronounced in a similar way to the u in FLUTE.

Now try saying AMIGO (friend) and UNIFORME (uniform) using the above rules.
