Spanish Pronunciation: the 'ch' sound

Updated: Aug 23, 2019

In Spanish, the sound ch is always pronounced like the ch in chimney and chocolate and never like the ch in champagne.

Spanish ‘ch’ words: el champú (shampoo), la chancla (flip-flop), el chico/la chica (boy/girl), la chaqueta (pronounced chaketa) (jacket) and el chocolate (pronounced chockolateh) (chocolate).
